The President of the Respublic of Iceland, Guðni Jóhannesson, paid an official visit to Tbilisi

 

The President of Iceland and the state delegation were welcomed at the international airport of Tbilisi by: the Head of the Administration of the President of Georgia Natia Sulava and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili.

The official welcome ceremony of the President of the Republic of Iceland, Guðni Jóhannesson, will be held today at the Orbeliani palace.

In the scope of the official visit, will be held a face-to-face and in an expanded format meeting between the President of Georgia and the President of the Republic of Iceland, after which the Presidents will make a joint statement.

The visits of the President of the Republic of Iceland with the Georgian Prime Minister and the chairmen of the Georgian Parliament is planned.

The President of the Republic of Iceland will also take part in, the meeting of the Georgian-Icelandic businessmen, which will be held in a round table format with the participation of the First vice Prime Minister and the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitachvili.

Within the framework of the visit of the President of Iceland, meetings of the members of his official delegation with the representatives of the Georgian government are planned: the Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate of the Republic of Iceland, Gudlaugur Thór Thórdarson, will meet with the Vice-Prime Minister of Georgia and the Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.

During his visit to Tbilisi, President of Iceland will visit Tbilisi State University named after I.Javakhishvili and give a public lecture to students.
