President Awards Lamara Margoshvili and Rostom Fareulidze with the Medal of Honor

 

The award ceremony took place today at the Orbeliani Palace, following the presentation of Meka Khangoshvili's book, "Cysts that Shaped the History of the Pankisi Valley"

The President of Georgia posthumously awarded Lamara Margoshvili, a distinguished teacher from the public school in Duisi village, Akhmeta Municipality, with the Medal of Honor in recognition of her significant personal contribution to the education of the younger generation and her long, fruitful career in pedagogy and public service. The award was presented to her grandson, Davit Gaurgashvili.

Rostom Fareulidze, a Caucasian linguist and Doctor of Philology, was awarded the Medal of Honor for his extensive research on the linguistic diversity of the Caucasian peoples in Georgia, his personal contribution to the teaching and promotion of their languages and cultures, his efforts in the preservation and development of the Chechen language, and his distinguished scientific and pedagogical work.
