During the meeting in Berlin, the President of Georgia discussed with the President of the Federal Republic of Germany the pre-election environment in the country, which is influenced by Russia, as well as the Georgian diaspora, which faces artificial barriers to participating in the elections.
The President also raised the issue of creating obstacles for non-governmental organizations operating in the country, which hinders them from carrying out observation missions.
The President of Georgia reaffirmed to the President of Germany the strong pro-European sentiment of the Georgian population, emphasizing that Georgia's people have always been, are, and will continue to be oriented towards Europe.
On the other hand, the President of Germany welcomed the initiative of the President of Georgia, the 'Georgian Charter,' and expressed hope that pro-European forces will prevail in Georgia. Steinmeier also voiced his full support for the Georgian people and their pursuit of a European future.
