Today, President Salome Zourabichvili departed for Paris to attend the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games.    

Before the opening ceremony, President Zourabichvili, along with the state leaders and heads of government from the countries participating in the Olympics, will attend the sports summit organized by the International Olympic Committee and the Office of the President of France. This event will host about 500 participants, including athletes and representatives of the sports movement.

Additionally, President Zourabichvili will attend a gala dinner in honor of the countries participating in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which will be held at the Louvre.

Twenty-eight Georgian athletes will compete at the Paris 2024 Olympics. For the first time in Georgia’s history, a mixed judo team comprising both women and men will compete at the Olympic Games.
