The President of Georgia awarded Malkhaz Parkadze the Civic Dedication medal for his exemplary cooperation in saving a person from the Mtkvari River in Tbilisi, as well as for his exceptional civic responsibility and personal bravery.
The President personally awarded Malkhaz Parkadze at the Orbeliani Palace and congratulated him on receiving the state award.
"It is very important not only what you have done but also to recognize it. Society begins where there is dedication, where indifference to one another does not exist. On the contrary, when people are ready to help each other, even at the cost of their lives, that is what makes a strong society.
Today, society is revitalized. We saw this in the actions of young people. We see every day that they are willing to take responsibility, and that begins with the individual—and you are the embodiment of that. I'm so glad everything worked out for you and that it ended well.
It is appreciated, and we should recognize your dedication and civic consciousness, presenting it as an example because if there is something lacking in our country and society, it is such examples. When it is written how others behave, it inspires you to think that you can do the same, and you will try," said the President of Georgia.
Malkhaz Parkadze thanked the President for the state award.
