President awarded Vasil Nakeuri with the Medal of Honor

The President of Georgia awarded Vasil Nakeuri, a resident of Pshavi, with the Medal of Honor for his exceptional personal contribution to the protection and preservation of Georgia's cultural heritage and his dedicated service to the country.

The awarding ceremony was held at the Orbeliani Palace, where the President of Georgia personally presented the state award to Vasil Nakeuri.

Vasil Nakeuri participated in the rehabilitation project of the Tsiskaraulebi Tower in Arkhot, which won the prestigious "Europa Nostra" award for heritage on May 30, 2024.

At the ceremony, around 40 volunteers from the "National Foundation of Georgia," the French organization Rempart, and the International Organization of National Foundations were awarded certificates by the Administration of the President of Georgia for their successful involvement and participation in the "Rehabilitation of the Tsiskaraulebi Tower in Arkhot" project.

420,000 GEL was spent on the rehabilitation of the Tsiskaraulebi Tower in Georgia with the help of international partners, of which approximately 90,000 GEL was utilized by the local community involved in the project.

The "Rehabilitation of the Tsiskaraulebi Tower by Citizens" project in Georgia, conducted from 2021 to 2023, was implemented in close cooperation with the International National Trusts Organization (Great Britain), "Rempart" (France), and the Association of the "Ducal Tower in Siedlecin" (Poland). The project was financed by the international foundation "ALIPH" (ALIPH Foundation).
