The President of Georgia – The upcoming elections will be the most important test for the country’s democracy

The President of Georgia, Salome Zourabichvili, in the framework of the Summit on Peace in Ukraine in Switzerland, met with the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda.

The Presidents spoke about the ongoing processes in the country and the importance of the parliamentary elections planned in Georgia in the fall.

According to the statement of the President of Georgia, the upcoming elections will be the most important test for the country’s democracy, the majority of the population of Georgia is a supporter and defender of the European path of the country's development.

The President of Georgia also highlighted at the meeting the fact, that the EU member states should not take such measures and decisions that will be directed against the Georgian people and the country.

On his part, the President of Poland once again expressed his full support for Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic path, and noted, that Georgia’s place is indeed in the European Union and that he supports Georgian people’s will and the process of European integration.

The President also talked about the ongoing events in Ukraine, the importance of peace and expressed her support towards Ukraine.
