Angi Khutsishvili, Acting Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of Georgia, stated that President Salome Zourabichvili has granted clemency to 34 prisoners, including one juvenile prisoner and eight women, ahead of the Feast of the Dormition of Our Virgin Mary.
“Since December 17, 2018, President Zourabichvili has used her constitutionally-granted discretion to grant clemency to convicted persons. In this period, the pardoning process has continued smoothly without any suspension. President Zourabichvili has pardoned a total of 91 inmates to this day,” said Angi Khutsishvili.
