Your Majesty,

I regretfully convey my sincere apologies as I find myself compelled to decline the invitation to join you at the inauguration of 'Europalia.' This event holds significant importance for my country, both culturally and politically. The presentation of Georgia's European culture and identity in the heart of Europe, especially during a crucial period when decisions regarding our candidacy for EU membership are underway, provides us with a unique opportunity to communicate a resolute message. We wish to express our strong desire to integrate into the European family, conveying this sentiment to the peoples and leaders of Europe.

Your Highness, please accept my sincere assurance of my earnest desire for Georgia to be represented at the highest level during the opening of this significant chapter in the relations between our two countries, as we discussed during our meeting on January 21, 2021.

Regrettably, two factors entirely beyond my control have rendered it impossible for me to fulfill my representative duty at this crucial event. Firstly, the unjustified refusal by the government to endorse my proposal for participation, and secondly, the scheduling of the consideration of my impeachment submission to the Constitutional Court on October 3 and 4.

Your Highness, I extend my heartfelt apologies for unforeseen circumstances beyond my control, which regrettably required a last-minute adjustment to meticulously planned protocol solutions. On the other hand, I wish to express sincere gratitude, on behalf of both myself and the Georgian people, for the gracious reception of Georgian culture in the heart of Europe.

Despite the challenges, I maintain a steadfast belief that this event will mark a special chapter in the history of relations between Georgia and the Kingdom of Belgium.

I extend my sincere hopes for Your Majesty's continued contribution to the prosperity of your country for many more years. I convey my best wishes for the great success of 'Europalia’ and express gratitude to Your Majesty for the significant contributions made by the royal family and the Belgian side to the organization of this most important event.
